Le Suquet Laguiole - FRANCE

At the heart of the Musée Soulages

Michel and Sébastien Bras wanted Le Café Bras to be a natural extension of the Musée Soulages.

They designed it, with the help of the same architectural practice that designed the museum, RCR, as a place where light, matter and space,  "these key elements which govern life on the heights of the Aubrac plateau" were given pride of place. Behind the Corten steel panels, if you take the exterior entrance, after having followed the path of steel slats bordered by water, you will discover  an original framing of the view, through a form of metal grill. An effect both attractive and disturbing at the same time, a photograph, graphic, made up of thousands of dots of light, offering an unexpected vision of the Rodez marketplace on one side and on the other, a view of nature, stretching as far as the horizon towards Aubrac. This vast space of over 500 m2 can accommodate one hundred guests in four distinct areas: the terrace in fine weather,  the Côté Comptoir (bar), accessible directly via the immense entrance hall to the museum, the restaurant itself and finally a more intimate space for small groups and private parties or for cookery classes.
