The book "Path - Michel Bras"

Michel Bras' testimony book on a kitchen life

An emblematic figure of cooking in the world

As an assertive self -taught, throughout his existence, Michel Bras, an emblematic figure of cooking for a whole generation of chefs around the world, from René Redzepi to Dommique Crenn, transformed constraints into freedom. At the time of tracing his journey, made up of lectures in bushy paths, in front of the heap of photos, archives and memories, he chose to "ink" his book around seven verbs as so many landmarks: listening, learning, loving, dreaming, cooking, doubting, sharing.

Rare testimony without pretense

“I am a self -taught. This book is a book of hope. With GI, we started from nothing. We have built on a daily basis, open to the world, culture, economy, others ... Our life is made up of many failures. These were the first words of Michel Bras at the start of the interviews with Corinne Pradier, the author. The ascent of Lou Mazuc to the Suquet, seven kilometers away, as brilliant as it was, was punctuated by tests. There was nothing to guess such a destiny and it is long "of lectures in bushy paths" that the path was drawn. »»

A graphic documentary

The cover of the book is wrapped in a unfoldable American jacket representing the intimate map of the Aubrac by Michel Bras. He points to the 46 places that marked his life: "Isn't I actually Aubrac?" It was him, this corner of the world, who shaped me. The book is animated by 7 notebooks-immediately which dialogue with the 7 chapters. Anne Bullat-Piscaglia and Guillaume Bullat (car 14), which sign the graphic design of the work, plunged into the abyss of Michel Bras archives to tell her intimate journey through personal photographs, unpublished documents accompanied by testimonies from her close collaborators or friends.
