Le Suquet Laguiole - FRANCE

A MOUNT A LAKE A SEA

10 000 kilometres separate Japan and France, Toya and Laguiole.

And yet, Michel and Sébastien Bras experienced the same emotions as they feel for their native Aubrac, as soon as they arrived on theit first visit, this remote land at the other end of the world which continues to fascinate them no matter what time of day, which season and whatever the weather. Both Michel and Sébastien have their feet firmly on the ground, but they like to have their heads in the clouds, when it comes to designing somewhere to welcome their customers. Situated on a breathtaking promontory, Toya the restaurant - between the sky and the land - overlooks a lake, adjacent to the sea with a backdrop of the surrounding hills, in the same way that le Suquet looks out over the Aubrac countryside. The fog creates landscapes with an unmistable Japanese imprint. The air is pure, and the landscape takes your breath away. The light is strong, fluffing up the clouds which sometimes form an ocean below or a canopy above. The tables seem suspended and the little island in the middle of the lake seems to be within the grasp of the customers as they prepare to embark on the next leg of their culinary voyage of discovery.
